Are you interested in a Blue Roan or maybe a Bay Roan? How about a rare
Dun Roan? If so, please read on about the wonderful world of Blue Roan Horses!
Azul Caballo Amigo We used to talk about asking a real cowboy what bloodline produces consistantly great cow horses, and how the answer is consistently Joe Hancock! These days, we talk more about how Azul Caballo Amigo (blue friendly horse... but we always just call him Blue) stepped out of the shadows of Joe Hancock to become a modern standard. Sadly, in 2010 after 29 years, Blue left us for a better place where view of the Rockies is always clear, the snow is never deep in the winter and the alfalfa is always fresh. But beyond the place in our hearts, Blue also left a powerful dynasty, embodied in our entire herd. The legacy continues. Goodbye old friend...
It has taken decades for us to build our program to the degree at which it stands but we never stop trying to make it even better. Producing Ranch, Rope, Family and Performance horses, all with roan color makes our horses suitable for almost any endeavor. Some of our foals have even become 'therapy horses' for clients that just needed something solid to connect to at a tough point in their lives. To produce these kind of horses takes some pretty special mares. Our broodmare band consists of high percentage blue roans, bay roans and a red roan here and there. If you look at the lines of our mares, such greats as Blue Valentine, Joe Hancock, Hancocks Blue Boy, Apache Joe Hancock, Blue's Beard, Happy Hancock, Pig Creek Roan, Roan Ambrose, Gooseberry, Red Man, Rowdy Blue Man and Buck Hancock are on our mares papers. We also enjoy a niche in the market by providing outstanding roan horses with the likes of Mr San Peppy, Doc Bar, Doc Clabber, Doc Tari, Drifts Chip, Zan Parr Bar, Doc O'lena, King Fritz, Freckles Playboy, and Doc's Lynx all on the foals papers! And these horses are performers. They have a lot of cow and are just awesome athletes!
